Implement a -s / --silent mode for kat #7

At present the kat script is purposefully talky. This could make it less than ideal for composition in a Unix pipeline, see also #6.

The kat script should be extended with a -s and --silent flag which causes all output to be suppressed save for the results of processing the response.
