Problem: some URLs are outdated #280

Running make linkcheck allows us to pull up outdated URLs, which I did in a local copy of the docs.

Although #284 is linked here, it's only adjacent to the main question.

The linkcheck has been run, updates were made in #283 and #285 , we can close this :)
