I want to be able to rename an app which I have created!

You can rename an app?
 Just 'Save As' and change the name. Does this not work for you?

Well, its saves just fine but the newly saved project with the new name can 
not, half of the times I try, be opened. The other half of saves works just 
fine. There seems to be some bug there, I will continue to try to identify more 
of the bug...

Should also be able to put spaces in the App name.

If you can point us at a renamed project that can't be opened that might help. 
Otherwise, I don't know how to reproduce the problem.
