Never bothered with it. Do you think I need one?

redchair123 commented 10 years ago

It's best to put a license on it. Otherwise the default is that you retain rights and can go after anyone who uses it.

For more info, read http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2007/04/pick-a-license-any-license.html

Wow, I had no idea about the implied copyright. Thanks for the info!

Isn't this closed because you solved the problem?

artemgordinskiy commented 9 years ago

Have I?

ghost commented 9 years ago

Didn't you add a license?

blag commented 9 years ago

@The-AJ26: This is licensed under the 2-clause BSD license (license file is here: https://github.com/ArtemGordinsky/SpotiFree/blob/master/SpotiFree/License.txt).

@ArtemGordinsky: It's customary to put a LICENSE file (usually no extension necessary, or .md extension if Markdown, or .txt if you choose) in the root of the project, and to have a quick "This project is licensed under the two clause BSD license, see LICENSE for more information." section towards the bottom of the README (see Dokku for an okay-ish example). I can fork and create a PR for this if you'd like.

This issue can be closed, as far as I can tell.
