Something like pandocciter would be amazing.

Citation syntax: @BibKey or [@bibKey]

Moreover, it would be interesting to be able to see the complete citation like you can do with this obsidian plugin https://github.com/mgmeyers/obsidian-pandoc-reference-list

It has an option Show Citekey Tooltips that "when enabled, hovering over citekeys will open a tooltip containing a formatted citation".

I agree, the autocompletion would be awesome. Perhaps this could be complemented with a autogenerated bibliography, similar to the toc generation and similar to this project.

The conversion of cite key to full citation could be done via pandoc.
