gatool is a tool to provide FIRST® Game Announcers with up to date information while announcing events during the FIRST Robotics season. As a web-based tool, it uses up-to-date information about the event to provide a comprehensive set of useful data to Game Announcers. It is designed to work on desktops, laptops and tablet devices.
Currently, sponsors appear on the Announce page until the GA hides them on the setup page. Since the desired behavior (per Blair) is to announce sponsors the first time a team appears, it would be nice to have gatool automatically hide sponsors after the first appearance.
In match play, this could be done by inspecting the ranking data. If a team has appeared in a match, then they will have a rank, so we can hide the sponsors. Any subsequent appearance would not show the sponsors.
An alternate strategy would be to determine if a team's appearance is their first in the tournament by inspecting the schedule.
