I couldn't find any mention of http2 in the docs

Is http2 currently supported or its on a roadmap to be supported?

+1 Is there and issue describing how to accomplish this ?

HTTP/2 is available and should be turned on by default. You can also set http2: true in request parameters to enable it explicitly.
