The mwe-new branch contains the first (and only) version that works. Have a look before we merge it to mwe, which will then be the basis on which we will develop. Let's try to have everything merged by next Friday? A couple of things that remain can be found in the TODO's. Imo, only after we agree on this it makes sense to continue with the mixed schemes.
