Attention! This repository is not currently maintained.

Please fork your copy away and make it to fit your awesome new project! The best place for technical questions is Stack Overflow. Don’t forget to use the “fotorama” tag when asking.

Also, let's discuss what fork (or forks) should be promoted here as official successor(s)? I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks everyone for support <3

P. S. You don’t have to drop Fotorama if it fits your project. It’s still very much alive: https://trends.builtwith.com/widgets/Fotorama

P. P. S. For myself, I can say that in the near future I plan to use a wonderful PhotoSwipe by @dimsemenov. Check it out!

Thank you for your work on Fotorama!

nik-holo commented 7 years ago

I've switched to Swiper few years ago for only reason - multiple images in one frame at the same time. But thanks for PhotoSwipe link, will check it out.

Hello really the work you did in Photorama is fantastic is a pity that has discontinued, I feel sorry but PhotoSwipe despite many features is not an inline photo gallery just another lightbox I need something like fotoroama a photo gallery with thumbs something like the galleriffic discontinued to 6 years but after so long only the photorealam has come closer to this result http://www.oboe.com.br/galeria_obrasdearte_6/index.html anyone who has any suggestion of a new version of fotorama or something close to the most up-to-date galleriffic I appreciate.

MrWong2016 commented 6 years ago

I've been looking for a few weeks and I have not found anything better than Photorama, the work done was fantastic, I ended up adopting it for my project and it worked perfectly on mobile devices with movements that are sensitive to touch and everything, it's a pity that it has discontinued but I'm happy if someone can do a folk of this project and post the link here to keep updated with improvements and keep alive this great idea ...

andrearicci commented 6 years ago

Sad to know this :-(, I agree with @ivent - fotorama is what I need. Unfortunatelly it seems not to work properly in https https://ellynagaoka.it/ while it was woking perfectly in http http://ellynagaoka.it/ - can someone help plz?

atu-record commented 6 years ago

gosteev commented 6 years ago

thank you for your work! as long as it used in magento2, fotorama will impact a lot of customization issues

ghost commented 6 years ago

@gosteev in magento2 gallery and those had only some common parts. If you found issues please report in magento rep

Thanks

@artpolikarpov Why not transfer the ownership or add collaborators? It looks like there are some candidates ;)

outdoorsman commented 5 years ago

Just an FYI... PhotoSwipe isn't really getting any recent GitHub commits... it's been 9 months since the last commit as of today.

BUT it seems like Swiper is really doing well though with more GitHub stars, forks, watchers, contributors, commits, and releases. Plus it's got a lot of recent activity and is going strong. I just found it a couple weeks ago and it's quite flexible so thought I'd share.

ivent commented 5 years ago

PhotoSwipe is a lightbox and Swiper is a slideshow, none of them compares to the robustest of photorealis that it yes is a true photo gallery with Thumbnails just as it was the Galleriffic abandoned to 8 years the closest that I found was the photorama that unfortunately was also abandoned it's a shame, I have a photo gallery site with lots of photos that require lazyload and thumbnail features, I'm still using the photo in it and it's running fine, it would be nice for someone to continue with the photo and make improvements and updates because I still do not find it nothing better.

seltix5 commented 5 years ago

i think @ivent said it all, i dint find either no other solution as complete as fotorama.

artpolikarpov commented 5 years ago

Love you all!

AnimalInstinct commented 5 years ago

I don't like PhotoSwipe, it is too heavy and complicated, Fotorama initialization is simple and works on div img img img div block , for Photoswipe i should make complicated DOM structure. Very sad Fotorama is unmaintained, i will use it while it works in my projects.

vacoo commented 5 years ago

This is nice library

artpolikarpov commented 5 years ago

Good news! Fotorama is back!

Thanks to Uploadcare, this project is maintained again!

The plan is simple:

  1. I'll continue where I quit. I’ll try to fix all known issues with v4. I want to be a friend for the army of Fotorama users (≈148,685 live sites worldwide).
  2. After that, I’ll start to work on v5. I’m not going to rewrite the whole thing from scratch. It will be an evolution, not a revolution. Feature requests are welcome!
