CVE-2018-19985 - Medium Severity Vulnerability
Vulnerable Library - linux-stable-rtv4.1.33
Julia Cartwright's fork of linux-stable-rt.git
Library home page: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/julia/linux-stable-rt.git
Found in HEAD commit: 2a4fd3afc623ae79fea13880ff39350d42fea4e6
Found in base branch: master
Vulnerable Source Files (2)
/drivers/net/usb/hso.c /drivers/net/usb/hso.c
Vulnerability Details
The function hso_get_config_data in drivers/net/usb/hso.c in the Linux kernel through 4.19.8 reads if_num from the USB device (as a u8) and uses it to index a small array, resulting in an object out-of-bounds (OOB) read that potentially allows arbitrary read in the kernel address space.
