Retina email signature #2

Not sure how to do this or if it's possible, but I'm tired of the blurry image on my phone.

Can I sniff the device in nginx config and serve a @2x image as MIA-exhibition-signature.jpg? Or maybe it's simple as adding max-width: 350px in gmail and serving a 700px image?
