The way the UI works for the text in the stories goes against well established UI standards. X-based close boxes are typically used to close something (a pop-up or modal) a user has intentionally requested. This is not the case in this application and the desired action is actually to temporarily hide something that is displayed by default. I would suggest replacing the (X) with the word Hide maybe with a downward arrow next to it and a hairline box around it. This issue is also related to the "Caption" retitling issue.
