Here's a hack that makes it build on my machine using MacPorts. I'm not sure how to integrate this in the build system. With a feature, perhaps?

yes, having a feature to allow to choose between one an another would be great, another solution would be to have both paths at the same time which should work in most cases but if someone has both the mac ports and the framework versions it might be problematic
