Hello, The "beep" sound file is embedded in the extension itself, as it can be accessed and played from the web page. The sound is playing for me in v 66.03, but some times it is not playing, due to some Firefox bug i think. Please click on some other input fields and then hover over the play button, and confirm whether the button color changes and try playing again. And to play the sound on web page from version 66 onward new permission is required, please refer below link https://hacks.mozilla.org/2019/02/firefox-66-to-block-automatically-playing-audible-video-and-audio/
I see. I can play and hear the beep sound by pressing the "test" button now.
Do you mean I have to set the web page "autoplay sound" permission to "allow" first to hear the beep sound? Otherwise it still won't play the beep sound even if checked?
Thank you.
Hi,
Yes, you have to set it individually for the sites you prefer, or disable it globally in the settings page. If it is allowed by the Firefox, then only "beep" sound will be played in the page.
More details in the Knowledge Base article here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay
I pressed the "test" button. No beep sound is played. Perhaps it should display the default location and let us set a custom location. In case if it points to wrong location due to difference in operating system, we can still have a way to fix it.
We can assign custom sound file if we can set a custom location too. Thank you.
