Login via openid with a gmail id results in Exception #278

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open http://footprint2009dev.appspot.com/ and click on "More" link
2.Select OpenId and enter footprint.test1@gmail.com and hit "OK" button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected:
2.The user must be logged in to "All For Good" or should be getting a 
message that the userid is incorrect

Actual:
2. An exception page with the stacktrace attached shows up

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.

Tested in Chrome and IE. Results in the same exception

Just learned that OpenID service was down.  Cassie, this should be a friend 
connect 
bug, right?  We should have a graceful message if we can't connect to a service 
like 
OpenID, Yahoo, AOL, etc.  We should also have a message when we can't connect 
to 
Facebook Connect.

as a matter of good discipline, since v1.5 is technically live,
re-targeting for v1.6

(since there's few issues in 1.6, they won't get "lost in the noise")
