give users a more clear reason to sign in #444

we heavily promote the idea of signing into the site (homepage, login bar,
etc.) but don't explain *why* users should login.

e.g. change the wording on the homepage to something like "Login with
_Facebook_, _Google_ and _others_ - to save listings and share with friends."

(feel free to disagree and close this as invalid...)

I don't think we have space to do that in the header.  

I think we should have some messaging in the side panel.  I also think we 
should have 
better messaging when the user tries to "like" and they are asked to login.  
I'm moving 
this out, since I don't think this is critical for 1.6, but something we can do 
for 
1.7.
