Reorganize the current system of feedback forms following the plan below:
Feedback Plan for AFG
Overall Points
* All remaining forms should be consolidated in the
footprintteam@gmail.com account, and old copies of forms should be deleted
to clean up the account. (I think the latest spreadsheet submission form
and the API key form aren't in that account right now.)
* All remaining forms should be embedded on static pages, rather than
linked to directly, so they fit in with the site layout. (Ex:
allforgood.org/dmca)
* All remaining forms need plans for monitoring submissions, including
a centralized set of instructions for how to respond to different requests
(such as a doc with instructions in the footprintteam account).
--Forms to be eliminated--
Submit Listings
* Previously
o Volunteer Listings Form - linked from /faq
o /spreadsheet info page - linked from /about
* New: Eliminate volunteer listings form, replace /spreadsheet with
/posting, include info on posting small numbers of opportunities to partner
sites, and add links to the footer and sidebar (already done, some parts
still awaiting push)
Bug Submission
* Currently: Form linked to from /help, /faq, /about
* New: Combine form with product feedback (in UserVoice). Most of the
bugs submitted are really just feedback, and there are plenty of things
that could be considered bugs submitted in the feedback form.
Volunteer to Help
* Currently: Form linked to from /about
* New: Replace with info on the API, Source Code, Gadget, Posting, etc
- it's not sustainable for us to personally reach out to people who want to
help, it's much better if they can get involved on their own. Set up call
for people who've offered to volunteer so far.
Source Code Request
* Currently: Product feedback form linked to from /about
* New: Link to codesite and /code page with documentation on using the
code. Remove link to form.
XML Feed Submissions
* Currently: Form linked to from /spreadsheet
* New: Eliminate form. Edit copy to tell people to email
provider-support@allforgood.org when they have a feed. New feeds are rare
enough that it makes more sense to do this via email.
Product Feedback
* Currently: Form linked to from /help, /faq, /about, footer
* New: Replace with UserVoice
--Forms to keep--
Spreadsheet Submissions
* Currently: Form linked to from /spreadsheet and the spreadsheet
template doc
* New: Keep form, need plan to monitor for submissions
* URL: /spreadsheet/submit
* Instructions: Adapt from
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dhkc5mm7_2dqbxz9d3 (footprintteam@gmail also
needs access to spreadsheet to be crawled)
Inappropriate Content
* Currently: Form linked to from /help, /faq, /about
* New: Keep form, need plan to monitor for submissions.
* URL: /report
* Instructions: Need instructions on how to remove content
Delete Account
* Currently: Form linked to from /faq
* New: Keep form, need plan to monitor for submissions. Long-term:
actual account removal option (issue 76).
* URL: /delete_account
* Instructions: Need instructions on how to remove account
DMCA
* Currently: Form linked to from /faq
* New: Keep form, need plan to monitor for submissions.
* URL: /dmca
* Instructions: Need legal contact to refer to
API Key form
* Currently: Form linked to from /docs/api.html
* New: Keep form, need plan to monitor for submissions. Change copy to
indicate that developers can begin using the API with a default generic
key, so that we're not delaying people from starting development.
* URL: /api/key
* Instructions:
https://docs.google.com/a/google.com/Doc?id=dfrp66d_4gk3w6czc
--Other Feedback & Support Mechanisms--
Google Groups
* afg-providers-list@googlegroups.com
* afg-api-developers@googlegroups.com
Email Aliases
* provider-support@allforgood.org
* press@allforgood.org
* are others necessary? there were several listed in emails from Karen
+ Ginny, but seems like it will be easier to keep everyone on the same page
if it's coordinated through spreadsheets.
