This came up when discussing how to permalink to the observation drawer on a mobile device because it covers the whole map when open. If the user closes the obs drawer to see the map, the only way to get back to that specific obs drawer point is to "guess" the point on the map be re-tapping the screen.
The solution is to make a tab in the bottom left of the screen (like the profile plot doies when closed) when the user closes the obs drawer and the blinking point on the map is still active. After discussing it on desktop, it would be useful to have that feature there as well.
Workflow:
User clicks an area on the map to pull up the observation drawer.
User closes the observation drawer
The point is still flashing on the map but there is no way to get the obs drawer data back without reclicking the map which results in a slightly different point being selected
If a drop down tab is created when the user closes the obs drawer, it solves this. When the user does something else in OM3 and the flashing point on the map goes away, so can the obs drawer tab.
The tab can read "Virtual Station (lat, long)" Just like the obs drawer title
