No longer maintained? #129

I've tried to use these scripts with very limited success. I have fixed a couple of errors but I keep running in new errors. Here are my fixes so far:

Error 1: I: Retrieving InRelease W: Cannot check Release signature; keyring file not available /usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg E: Invalid Release file, no entry for main/binary-i386/Packages Died: Debootstrap failed

Fix: added --arch armhf to the debootstrap command.

Error 2: Packages.gz corrupt, turned out the mirror you are using is updating its archive, changed to a different Raspbian mirror and the error went away.

Of course I have tried to contact the author of these scripts but he is not replying to emails. Therefore I doubt whether these scripts are still being maintained. Should I fork and rebuild these scripts?

Count me among those interested in seeing this project maintained. For the ARCH issue, I just sent a pull request. I notice it seems to be the project's first in a long time; let's see if Alex takes it.

There seem to be a lot of issues here related to a distro image, not the project itself. Maybe they should be closed or moved elsewhere.

Spindle seems to fit my need well (scripts for building new raspbian images), and whether here or elsewhere, I'm happy to contribute / help maintain.

Good to see there are others looking for the same thing. Did you manage to build a image successfully? The problem I keep running into is the following:

Error 3: W: Failure trying to run: chroot /home/maarten/spindle/spindle_chroot mount -t proc proc /proc W: See /home/maarten/spindle/spindle_chroot/debootstrap/debootstrap.log for details Died: Debootstrap failed

I haven't had time lately to look into this, but I may look into building a image from scratch with debootstrap (not quite familiar with it yet)

Multiple people have reported complete out of the box success now that upstream packages that change have been mirrored by me, and when using the downgrade_qemu script to stick to qemu 1.0.
