General information

The netflix plugin wont automatically ask me to download chromium os/libwidevine when trying to play a movie/show after initial launch

Prerequisites

Description

The netflix plugin used to automatically ask me to download chromium os/libwidevine when trying to play a movie/show after initial launch. Since then i've re-installed the android firmware on my set-top box. I then re-installed kodi and this Netflix plugin, but this time it wont popup and ask me to download chromium os/libwidevine for me. I have no idea where to get these files if i were to do it manually.

I also tried to install the plugin from the repo instead (v. 0.13.8) but that won't even let me sign in, it gives me an error for wrong credentials. But there's already a bug report posted for this.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Netflix after install
  2. Sign in
  3. Try to playback a movie/show

Expected behavior: Netflix plugin to automatically install chromium os/libwidevine when trying to play a movie/show

Actual behavior: Tries to load a movie/show for a second, then nothing happens. No errors.

Android has DRM in OS, no libwidevine required. For your other issue pls. provide a full log:

My specific tv box and firmware only supports Widevine L3. I don't have the proper DRM to actually watch Netflix natively, that's why i downloaded kodi with this plugin. Is there no way to let kodi handle the DRM for the plugin, with libwidevine?

Netflix addon runs on several L3 android devices with limited resolutions. Pls. provide a log if playback fails.
