Don't go too fast @snecklifter. I don't think the TikZiT editor is the right tool to point to. What you actually need is a Tex distribution that provides the TikZ package; doesn't really matter which one. On Debian for instance that means you need the texlive-latex-base and optionally the pdf2svg packages. The TikZiT package depends on texlive-latex-base so installing TikZiT works as well of course, but pointing people there we incorrectly imply they need to install it.
