What kind of change does this PR introduce? (check at least one)
What is the goal of this pull request?
Now that v3.0.0 is out, and v2.2.x is still supported for fixes, it was necessary to explain that in README for both users and maintainers.
Are there any alternative ways to implement this?
We could add to Antora docs, but this seems a more appropriate place as this is the first point of entry for most users (afaik).
