Add integrated source-code revision system to Aseba #262

It has now happened numerous times - students will reopen their code - only to find that it is blank!

I believe this is due to an issue where they open VPL, and VPL clears out their code, and then they save it. I wonder if maybe they think they have to open VPL to save their file or something...

It would be nice if Thymio automatically had a history of saves- like a version control, so that I could go back and recover their lost work. This has been an issue from last year where students are accidentally clearing their work.. and I believe it has to do with opening the VPL and it clearing it.

Maybe something like a time capsule? Where you can roll back changes?

Is this happens with latest studio 1.3.1, because we improve a lot to not mismatch such case, could you make a procedure how to reproduce the bug?

Hi Sharon. Could you be more precise in your bug reports please? For instance by giving a procedure of how to reproduce the bug. Also, as Michael said, please always try with the latest version (including minor revision: they often fix bugs). It is not clear for me to which situation this bug refers to, nor in which component of the system (Thymio, Aseba) you wish to see implemented the revision system. I guess you think about Studio/Thymio VPL.

That said, I agree that an integrated revision system in Aseba would be great, and we could even surreptitiously introduce children and teenagers to git by telling them it is a cool social game. But that requires a lot of design work and even more implementation work, so I mark it long term.
