Aesprite Refuses To Launch After Custom Theme #3413

Open SpookedHyena opened 2 years ago

SpookedHyena commented 2 years ago

Hey all! I recently reinstalled my aseprite via steam and decided I wanted to make a custom theme. When I installed it as an extension, it crashed. I tried relaunching the program but now it only crashes to the desktop. So I decided I would just do a clean install again via steam, but the same thing continues to happen, even when I switch to a beta. I tried verifying the integrity of the files multiple times and also did a clean install multiple times, but I'm still getting the same issue. Is there a config file somewhere on the computer that Aseprite uses that might be causing this? Or does anyone have a fix for this?

Aseprite and System version

Hi @SpookedHyena. I saw you posted some similar one month ago in a closed issue: https://github.com/aseprite/aseprite/issues/3360#issuecomment-1149159666.

First of all, you need to update Aseprite to the latest version. If you are having trouble updating through Steam, please contact us at support@aseprite.org.

Anyway, I'll try to reproduce this.

Just in case you can reset your preferences: https://www.aseprite.org/docs/reset-preferences/ to remove your theme from your user preferences (which are not deleted after uninstalling Aseprite). You can also share with us your theme and we can check where the program crashes to fix this for following versions.
