Fix get_canonical_path and get_absolute_path behavior

Match these functions with the standards:

• https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/filesystem/canonical (returns an empty string if the file doesn't exist)
• https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/filesystem/absolute (doesn't fail if the file does't exist)
