This is #55 but - the attempt at chunked simplify, and + a use of the array-based appending in recomb collector.
The commit one back from the tip of this branch, 6f9838e9cd8859970850feb1939ada8ac188bf12 , passes. But dda440f links recomb collector, via a slight change in recomb_collector.py to the apparently working arg recorder code. Though the logic seems intact (i've reproduced what was a for loop as a generator) it introduces a few errors currently
