macosx format change #1596

Hi Folks,
so far we have been giving out a ZIP file for macosx however now we have a DMS 
in 2.4.0 release can we try and keep it consistent.

cask a commandline tool for installation has these URL's hardcoded so keep 
fliping them from zip to dmg will be a big pain for people maintaining them.

Is the DMG a problem, or just the fact we changed?
We want to support the most appropriate format for each platform, and plan to 
carry on releasing the Mac version as a DMG going forwards.

If we are going to stick to DMG then it should be fine. I was concerned that we 
should not keep shuffling between DMG and ZIP

We would only change back if we had a load of complaints, and not just about 
the fact we switched :)
Note that the 'linux' one is in fact cross platform, and works on MacOS and 
Windows.
