Instead of just making ten predictor variables haphazardly, the predictors should be made in an intentional manner to maximize their utility when making the functions for the response variables.

Use runif() for all variables?
Do (more) research on generating data for simulations

Made all the predictors randomly generated, sampling from a normal distribution with random means and standard deviations (also normally distributed)
