Devices can't see Chromecast on Nexus Player with 6.0 #665

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Just try to use it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the Nexus Player as a Chromecast option. It doesn't show up in
apps like YouTube. In the chromecast app it says it can't find any chromecast
devices.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Nexus Player brand new out of the box that was OTA to 6.0. Test phone Note 4
with 5.1.1 and iPhone 6.

Please provide any additional information below.

The player was casting fine on 5.1.1 and stopped working after the OTA to 6.0.
Factory reset didn't fix the problem.

Note in the past chromecast on the Nexus Player has always been kind of flaky,
requiring reboots to get devices to pop it up.

I don't have the Note 4 to confirm but it was download from the play store on
10/15/2015

Cast receiver is saying version 1.16.43955. Not sure if it auto updated since
last night. I tried it right after it OTA upgraded to 6.0, not sure what
version is included.

I'm assuming the Shield issues are also related?
Nvidia seems to be taking the brunt at the moment:

Google Cast 1.16.45911 is out....

I have two Nexus Players on 6.0 that are now working and one Nexus Player with
CM12.1 (5.1.1) that is working again.

Thanks!

Everything on my Nvidia shield appears to be back in order. Casting tested
with Nexus 6, Chrome extension and iPad - all can cast successfully.
