I am super excited to see what results you find. I love baseball and this mass of data interests me tremendously. I wonder if you could make some comparisons between 2020 and some prior years. One question I keep coming back to is if player performance changed as a result of having no crowds. Have you heard of the {Lahman} package with a bunch of data? I'm not sure if you are scraping a website with more data than this, but this package may save you some hassle ;D.

When you compare your personal stats to the professional stats, are you planning on it just being you two or will you gather more data and info from friends or other GVSU students to create a bigger data pool?

These results will be very interesting to see. If everything goes as planned, would you ever consider expanding this to other professional sports to see if you can predict those award winners too? I think a lot of people would be very curious to see these predictions.

This project sounds really cool! Personally, I am not super interested in sports. However, this project still sounded very intriguing to me! How did you decide what data you wanted to include? And how did you decide on the years? If you are going to include 2020, how will you account for the changes due to COVID? Good luck with your project!

I actually did not think of this as a possibility, but that could be interesting to see! I know in relation to track and field (I'm heavily into the running community) there was little effect in performances in 2020 compared to previous, there were actually multiple world records broken (W's 5k, 10k). This may be fun to look into!

The idea is more along the lines of user entry, not myself nor Jake. The idea is to have a text box style input on the webpage in which someone can input their statistics and compare to other players.
