Congratulations on being selected for a visa and I’m glad your finding use for the things you learned in the QA course.
I just did some quick research on the RFE and the expert opinions letter. I’d be happy to write a letter for you, but I want to make sure I do a thorough job. It appears that the USCIS can reject expert opinion letters for varieties of reasons, http://blog.cyrusmehta.com/2017/11/the-governments-nasty-treatment-of-expert-opinions-in-support-of-h-1b-visa-petitions.html. I’m not an expert of law, so I think I should take a look at the sample letters provided by your lawyer. They’ll will give me some idea of USCIS’s expectations and I can add to them and modify them with my own expert opinions regarding software quality positions and their requirements. Does this sound fair?
Also, we should communicate via email. I don't want you to post your email address here since this is a public forum. Could you connect with me via LinkedIn?
Thanks soooo much for your reply!! umm seems I can't send you an InMail via linkedin since I'm not a member. but I just send a adding friends request on linkedin. Once you accept that I can send you InMails. (okay I'll re-edit the first message to remove my email and info! thanks for your remind)
Hey Mr. Iser,
[DELETE] Since graduated last year Spring 2017, I have been working in bay area and later on switched my job this year to L.A.
I was one of your students in lass INFSCI2545 Software Quality Assurance, Fall Term 2016-2017
Now I'm working as a software quality assurance engineer, and our company mainly doing educational economics games for students.
This year I was so lucky to get sponsored for H1B lottery by our CEO and also lucky to win the lottery --- I got selected for the H1B visa and on its way to be approved!
But things have been extremely tough since last year, so many students still got denial although they have already won the lottery. Countless students randomly got RFE(Request for Evidence) notice from USCIS asking for more materials.
Unfortunately, I am one of the bad luck guy this year who won the H1B lottery already but got RFE before approval.
I'm writing this message to bother you because my lawyer asking me to provide a letter from my related course teacher, which is called expert opinions letter. Here is what she sent to me below. And I also translated it into English below that.
-Expert Opinions Letter: Illustrate why the company(MobLab) needs a quality assurance engineer; The minimum degree/major requirement for this job should be bachelor's majored in Computer/Information Science, and this job prefers master's degree. -Experts information -Illustrate author‘s qualification as an expert -Illustrate how to get the conclusion above -Provide the basis of above conclusion, which includes relevant citing references.
I do have some sample letters from the lawyer but I feel that is not a honest way to do this, but if you wanna take a look I can send you later. This drama occurred last week and finally I write this email up, I can send you the screenshot of the job posting on linkedin when I applied for this job, and I can also talk to our HR to see if I am allowed to send my working product(the code) to let you know what I exactly do for my job(Basically build up automation testing tools for company products for both front-end and back-end as well as mobile, writing test cases, unit tests etc.)
Sorry to bother you this way, i'm not sure if you are still using this email or not.
I will be really appreciate if you can help me about this issue!
Have a good day!
Since I failed to send you the email to your Pitt email address, so can you email me back if you got my message?
