This is definitely a great conversation to have! Would love to hear other thoughts. Unfortunately, I've gotten a lot of trolls both submitting and sending rude communication about this project, which is one of the big reasons I've kept the airtable format -- I'm the only one that sees that and it doesn't negate from the project further if that makes sense. I also have control over adding people or not relatively anonymously.
I also am afraid of people adding people that are not themselves for similar reasons. It hopefully won't happen, but I have a really huge fear of featuring people who don't want to be featured due to the potential of people being rude.
That being said, we'd have more creators and the process would be more transparent this way. Let's see if other people weigh in?
Thanks!
In the meantime -- feel free to DM me or Email me to make any changes!

One way around this might be to have a bot service look at everything which is submitted, and figure out the sentiment of the submitted text. This might be too difficult or out of scope for the project as there might be some cost involved with text recognition services.
Another way might be to implement Re-Captcha on the submission forms. Most trolls wont want to sit through Re-Captcha forms just to post something inappropriate.

A way around this could be some kind of confirmation system. Perhaps require an email or twitter confirmation before accepting the submitted data and allowing it to be added to the site.
These are just the first ideas that come to mind, but I'm sure that others will have better ideas.
It would be nice if there was a way to edit personal info that I've submitted. What would be even better is if that data resided in GitHub, so it would be easy to send PR's. This would also allow people to manage their own profiles and potentially submit others who may not be aware of this site.
Also, it would be nice to add details around that to the readme.
