Can't uninstall ASP.NET 5 RC1 Update 1 #327

This might not be the right place to post this, but I found an old locked issue about the same problem: https://github.com/dotnet/aspnetcore/issues/1449

Trying to uninstall the old "Microsoft ASP.NET 5 RC1 Update 1" via Windows Settings produces a prompt for the file "AspNet5.ENU.RC1_Update1.exe". Unfortunately, that file doesn't appear to be available from Microsoft anymore (all download links I can find are now broken, including the ones in the issue above), so it seems impossible to uninstall.

Is that file available anywhere, or is there a way to manually uninstall?

@joeloff this old issue has links to the old RC1 installer, but the links are now dead: https://github.com/dotnet/aspnetcore/issues/1449 - is there another way the customer could uninstall ASP.NET 5 RC1?

That release was unpublished in 2019. Let me reach out to a few folks internally

@SeijiSuenaga please reach out to https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/contactus/ about this issue, they should be able to help you get a copy of the files you need to uninstall ASP.NET 5 RC1 Update 1. Feel free to loop me in if you need further help.

We don't necessarily need to reopen this, but status update: support hasn't yet been able to provide a copy of the installer file. They escalated my question to tier 2 and haven't gotten back to me yet.

Hello, any updates? It's still an issue for being not able to uninstall this package.

Support wasn't able to provide the installer file, so I gave up and just accepted that the package will remain installed until I eventually reformat my drive. 😕
