Unable to open Net Core project #761

When VS opens, it always says tooling rc1 update1 is installed, and suggest upgrading to rc2. I've installed/uninstalled rc2 ten times. Same problem. The v14.0\DotNet folder is completely missing.

Installed: Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools version 14.1.20203.0 Update to 14.1.20810.0: 10 times uninstall + reinstall. No matter, always the old version in VS.

error : The imported project “C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v14.0\DotNet\Microsoft.DotNet.Props” was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.

I tryed: 1/ Open an explorer in”C:\ProgramData\Package Cache”, search DotNet, and uninstall DotNetTools, DotNetCore, and dotnet-dev*. Then delete the GUID folders containing each item you deleted. 2/ Run VS2015 setup, the checkbox “Web tools” should now be unchecked. Check it. At the end VS asks you to reboot. 3/ After reboot, restart VS. It should launch clean. Now install DotNetCore tooling preview2.

Still same problem. Any solution ?

Could you include the contents of Help -> About in VS? There'll be a button on the right hand side that allows you to copy all of the information on the dialog to the clipboard.

@softlion Is this still a problem? If so, could you provide the log files of the install after upgrading to RC2?

No, but because the hard drive died. After a fresh install there is no more update bug as it won't update, just install :)

Ok, shall we go ahead and close this for now since we don't have the logs to investigate and it sounds like you managed to get the bits installed. You can always reopen/open a new issue if you run into a similar problem.
