Points to say :

  1. Introduction of our web-site

    • Our topic is Campus to Corporate.
    • Presently, there is a gap in industry and academia. Students face problems transitioning from college to a job. There is also difficulty contacting people for advice, most students resort to cold-emailing people or contacting alumni. We want to create an app and establish LinkedIn chapters in colleges. The app will facilitate the activities of this chapter.
    • Anyone who joins LinkedIn and their college is a part of a registered LinkedIn chapter will be automatically added. This means this chapter will be a place where all alumni and students can connect.
    • It has the following features, Job Board, Event Board, Mentor Me section.
  2. Why did we decide to create this?

    • According to a study by Stanford by Francis Flynn, when people are encouraged to see greater commonalities with strangers, they will extend help to those whom they may have otherwise considered part of the "out group."
    • We talked to friends and also from our personal experience we felt the need for something like this. LinkedIn does suggest Alumni when you join it but it doesn't connect you to ALL. If we graduated in 2021 and an alumni has passed out in 1999, there is a very low chance of us connecting to them.As soon as someone joins this platform they will be added to their college group. The students can use it to take guidance from them , can ask their doubts freely and also know about the various events being conducted by companies. The alumni can post relevant jobs or referrals, events that they want to conduct as a part of their company and mentor students.
    • Why we used Ruby on Rails? The programmer does not have to spend a lot of time configuring files in order to get setup, Rails comes with a set of conventions which help speed up development. RESTful application design. REST (Representational State Transfer) is a style of software architecture based around the client-server relationship. It encourages a logical structure within applications, which means they can easily be exposed as an API
