Adding a new language #431

Hello, there are a lot of AssaultCube players in China and I'd like to add Chinese Language support.Could somebody just help me or tell me how to translate it? Thanks a lot!

Simplified Chinese just reminds me of wolf-warrior diplomacy and "nmsl-ese". There are players around the world, many of whom have no problem with easy English. Personally it would be better to keep Chinese(the language per se, not people from China) out of AC.

The thing is, AC had translated versions in the past. This feature has been removed.

AC is played almost exclusively online, especially since the bot modes are basically useless except for testing purposes. And in worldwide online multiplayer games, it is a drawback, if some players can not use the common language. In the past, having localized AC versions led to some sort of balkanization of the game world - with servers where every player was kicked, if he didn't fit.

To play AC, you only need a few dozen words of English, most of which are keywords in the game, which can not be translated anyway. So instead of creating a localised version of the game - how about you create a "language cheat sheet" (maybe not the best name for it :wink:) with the most important game phrases and their (for example) Chinese counterparts?
