Fix the memory leak #50

This has made the site slow down to a crawl.

It seems like this memory leak probably wasn't as serious as it appeared - when I pulled up the site in Chrome, it was running normally with no lag.

I restarted Firefox ...

mozilla_crash_reporter

... and the site sped back up to normal.

Regardless of how serious the leak was, PR #51 cleans up the error message we were getting in the console.
