Can we advertise the work that the GA4GH has done to develop standards for Genomic Data?

We could propose to write at least a Blog post from the perspective of the API community.

@Steven-N-Hart - looks like a perfect topic. We haven't really talked about workflows for making additions to the site - feel free to work in a feature branch, a fork, or just commit a new page to main if you want to go for it. Now that we're moving toward a article/post format, it probably makes sense to include Authors: in the page metadata.

@reginakwon - you might be interested in this topic as well.

👋 Hi, I am a co-lead of the Variation Representation team in the GA4GH Genomic Knowledge Standards (GKS) Work Stream. We recently published on our standard for computable variation representation: the GA4GH Variation Representation Specification (VRS; pronounced "verse"). This GKS product seems very relevant to the goals of the API interoperability initiative.

I am grateful to @Steven-N-Hart for proposing a blog post on GA4GH variation standards, I would be happy to contribute to such a post or otherwise discuss the features of VRS and how it may help with the interoperability challenges being discussed in this forum.

Hi @ahwagner - thanks very much for the offer! If you are comfortable with git/github, I'd suggest cloning the repository, adding an entry to the /content directory, and opening a pull request. Otherwise, you could either simply paste markdown content into a comment on this issue and one of us can publish it, or even share content in another format and we'll make it work. Thanks again.
