Strange artifact on the screen after activating the script #4

Once I activated the script, something showed up in the left upper corner, some kind of square space that covers the area behind it (so it's not clickable and since I have there a panel and window buttons, it prevents me from normal desktop usage). This area has troubles of refreshing the picture so it shows a remnants of last opened window. Deactivating the script makes it go away.

Here is the screenshot:

I'm having a similar issue. The artifact appears every boot and I get it to go away each time by opening the overview and closing it.

This is an issue I'm trying to sort, and is related to the kwin thumbnail class that's exposed to the script API for painting the thumbnails. As mentioned, a quick activation/deactivation (meta+a/meta+a) makes it go away, but that's not desirable long term.

Well, I still have no idea how to activate the script since meta+a was earlier set by me to do something else.

In my case, and I think its by default, meta+a was a shortcut for show desktop option. However I erased it and still can't activate the script. Also I have the same artifact.

Using this command the script works!
