I have been thinking about this for a while.
Unfortunately there seems to be little chance that Mono will support WPF in the
foreseeable future. Hence one would need to rewrite the user interface.
We will probably not do this. However, a project that is on my mind is to make
TikzEdt into an Eclipse plugin, to be used with TeXlipse. This has the
advantage that a big part of the user interface can be borrowed from
Eclipse/TeXlipse (the text editor and tools), and only the wysiwyg editor and
some glue have to be rewritten. The back-end can be ported to Java with little
effort, I think.
This would make TikzEdt also available for Mac and Linux. However, I'll
probably need some help with this, as my day job leaves too little time at the
moment.... so if you know someone who would like to work on such a project, let
me know...
