Currently it is not possible to start e.g. a URL with the standard browser platform independent on Windows/Linux with the ApplicationLauncher Plugin.
My suggestions would be to add properties:
applicationWindows
applicationLinux
if one of these is set it is started instead of "defaultApplication" on Windows/Linux. If they are not set in Linux/Windows the "defaultApplication" is started (= current behaviour).
