aconfigure/aconfigure.ac #2

I don't understand why there's 'aconfigure.ac' and why 'configure' is a shell wrapper around 'aconfigure'. I'm probably missing something as this can't be by accident :).

I do wonder though why it can't be done like everyone else does it..

There's probably some history there as to why this is the way it is.

Since the current configure-wrapping-aconfigure thing isn't actually a problem, we're not going to change that. That's outside the scope of what we're trying to do.

Judging from what I've seen from pjproject's build system, I think a revamp (or at least significant rethinking/changes) of pjproject's build system is going to be necessary for what you're trying to do. But your call of course :)
