Currently we don't take into account out to what radius a metallicity gradient can be expected to be valid. We should have (the option of) a cut-off radius and/or expand the code to support two (or ideally any number) of gradients. As to the latter, however, this can alternatively be solved by code that generates a metallicity map using certain gradient information.
Suggest to leave this be since it is possible to clip the maps before running the pipeline. It is also easy to post-select the data by galactocentric radius.
