Further to an email conversation, I think we should have options to underlay several things on the faststars map. Categories I like:

Milky Way globular clusters (Harris 1996)
Milky Way dwarf galaxy (McConnachie 2012)
Local group galaxies and their dwarfs (McConnachie 2012) For all of these categories I have catalogs of names and positions. What is the best format for me to give you them?

A simple CSV table is fine. Would be cool to have little “regions” for each, particularly for the larger objects, so object diameter would be nice to include. Name, RA, Dec, size.

CSV will be easy, although I might not have a chance till Monday. I had been thinking the exact same thing and the catalogs I've found do include the half-light radii!

I've added three datafiles to the faststars input folder. They are hopefully self-explanatory! Some values are missing and they are denoted with -9999.

Another idea I've had is that once I've calculated the probability of each star being bound, we could have a slider that allows the user to show only those stars whose probability of being unbound is > x%.
