Astroid pane view doesn't work anymore #547

Closed matclab closed 4 months ago

When trying to open pane view in astroid version 8cd76eeb9b, I only get a small supplementary blank space (~1mm height) before the first thread, and the the thread tab freeze.

Confirmed.

same here on Archlinux with release 0.14-1

Same issue here.

Note that other than this issue, I also see a very similar one when trying to compose new mail or reply to a mail. A new tab is opened with a distorted view of the current one. It may be closed afterwards if requested, but it's impossible to compose a message.

Is there any workaround for these issues currently?

I have recently noticed that astroid has started freezing when editing a message (external editor). Perhaps that is the reason for the distortion.

Is this a wontfix? I don't seem to notice any problems with the external editor, but the pane view is still broken.

I think this is actually just an issue with the default size of the panel. And you can actually resize it with the mouse. You'll have to aim well because there's only one pixel to grab the border and it's right next to the window border, but it's doable.
