Hi @tepickering and @eteq,
Tim, we're working on an updated contract with a July 1, 2022 start date. However, you are welcome to submit invoices in the meantime via the Open Collective Moore project. If you want to keep this budget separate from your Cycle 2 funding (which has a balance of ~2k), please let us know, otherwise we're just going to merge the two budgets.
We look forward to your efforts to hire someone to join this project. We'll be back in touch soon with guidance on open hires.

Also, here's the Scope of Work.
Given the level of effort which @tepickering is able to supply during Cycle 3, the 40k open hire budget has been allocated to him.
was asked via email if i had extra requests for specreduce/spectroscopy funding. the $40k budget that got allocated to me fits into my conflict-of-commitment time budget, but with not much room to spare. direct travel reimbursements wouldn't conflict with that, though, and i would like to attend both the SciPy and ADASS meetings. so here are some budgets for both:
SciPy
total: 2920
ADASS
total: 320
ADASS will be held on the UA campus in tucson so other travel expenses likely won't be required.
The funds for travel have been approved. Please submit reimbursement requests to the Moore project on Open Collective: https://opencollective.com/astropy/projects/astropy-moore-8435
it looks like i was correct in my estimate for ADASS registration cost. however, my living situation has changed and i am now 30 miles/45 minutes away from the meeting site on campus. would prefer to get a hotel in town for the meeting to save the time, hassle, and gas involved in 60 miles of commuting. looking at $705 total to stay at the university inn just west of campus. if we do end up doing the spectroscopy workshop at noirlab the following week, i would prefer to do a hotel in town for that as well.
well, never mind on the ADASS part. MMTO went ahead and registered me proactively.
@tepickering , maybe go back to https://github.com/astropy/astropy-project/issues/300#issuecomment-1579462120 and cross out the stuff that you don't need anymore? Thanks!
