astropy is already on its 5.1 release and the About section of the repo says:

Astropy Paper III: To be published with the next LTS release of astropy core (v5.0, Fall 2021)

Latest word from @adrn is that the paper was accepted without revision. I'm not clear on the timeline for publication, but it should be soon!
