Also, a note for posterity:

The latest affiliated registry at time of writing is here, and the commit of affiliated registry at the time of publication of Astropy paper II is here. A diff of these two files was used to construct the list of new affiliates since 2018.

@bmorris3 -- any chance you could move these commits to a branch in your fork instead of main (would mean opening a separate PR and closing this one)? I'll send out the email to affiliated package lists Monday morning since I ended up not getting back to it until late Friday.
