Remove intrinsic/extrinsic variable stars, submitted by Radek Poleski #122

From @rpoleski #99:

I'd like to give arguments for removing intrinsic/extrinsic level. First, it's hard to classify a variable star as intrinsic/extrinsic (level 4) if we don't know if it's eclipsing, ellipsoidal, cataclysmic, eruptive, magnetic, or pulsating (these are level 5). Second, in the current version, level 4 also contains "Periodic variable stars" but these are repeated entries mostly from pulsating category. [...] Third, currently extrinsic variables are divided only into eclipsing and ellipsoidal. Considering ellipsoidal variables as extrinsic is problematic - ellipsoidal variables have shape changed by the external force, but what we observe is the change of the shape itself. The change of the shape seems something intrinsic even if caused by extrinsic force.

I might regret poking this further, but hearing feedback from multiple people would be really great on this issue.

I know there is a strong precedence in the study and understanding of variable stars for keeping the intrinsic/extrinsic classification, however it seems neither extrinsic nor intrinsic variable stars have much use as individual concepts. Concepts used to create groups are useful in the UAT, even if they themselves are not highly used, but the ideal would be for all concepts to have solid usage in literature even if they are group-name concepts.

My inclination would be to keep these two concepts because of that precedence, further discussion is welcome.

I appreciate the arguments made by @rpoleski and @katieefrey. Therefore, I agree that some further discussion is in order. We should make an effort to reach out to the variable star community.
