relationships between objects and effects #289

Suggestion made in Issue #286 brings up the need to reconsider the locations of Forbush effect and Diamond ring effect (possibly others?).

Forbush effect is a child of cosmic rays... but it is an effect of a cosmic ray, and not a cosmic ray itself.

Likewise with Diamond ring effect.... it is an effect from an eclipse, but it is not an eclipse.

286 suggests that new concept "Blazhko effect" should be a child of "RRab variable stars", "RRc variable stars"... but it is a variation of period and amplitude of these variable stars...and not a variable star itself.

My inclination is to move these effects elsewhere, under some sort of physics section, and use "Related concept" links to connect them.

@danielchivvis is "an effect of" an appropriate child relationship? If not, what would a "physics" branch somewhere look like?

An effect of is not an appropriate child relationship as defined by Z39-19 2005r2010. See section 8.3.

ISO 25962 should have a similar section detailing the types of relationships in the thesaurus.

"Astrophysical processes" is a "physics branch," also other sections have "physics" branches, such as "Stellar physics" under "Stellar astronomy" or "Galaxy physics" under "Galactic and extragalactic astronomy." "Black hole physics" is a sibling of "Black holes" both of which are under "High Energy Astrophysics." Basically, they exist sort of scattered throughout as relevant.
